John Teichert

John’s interest in design began with his studies in architecture, painting, and sculpture.

He holds a degree in architecture from Cornell University with a secondary minor in fine arts, including wood carving and basketry. He continues his work with pencil sketches of historic buildings and olympic park scenes with depth added using watercolors and pastels.

“Each piece and each media allows me to see more clearly the details of a building, a flower, or a scene. Every object has edges, has mass, and has voids which help define its character. I only try to expand on what exists and in some cases interpret what I see as an essential meaning.

Every aspect of creativity is relaxing and helps me examine the world around me and myself.”
